MEDUSA STREET, MOSMAN

The objective of this project was to improve the internal layout and visual appeal of a family home, as well as to enhance the connection between the internal and external spaces. The project achieved these goals by introducing architectural detailing to the front and rear facades of the home, using a contemporary color palette, and simplifying the entrance to the property from Medusa Street.

The resulting home has a refined appearance that complements the urban landscape, and a sleek internal layout featuring luxurious materials, customized joinery, and carefully selected furniture. By streamlining the home's exterior and interior design elements, this project has created a cohesive and visually appealing space that meets the needs of modern family living.

Already a family home, this project sought to hone the internal layout of the dwelling, improve its aesthetic appearance to the streetscape and further develop the connections between the internal and external spaces of the property. With the addition of architectural detailing to the front and rear façades of the home.

The introduction of a contemporary colour palette and streamlining the entrance to the property from Medusa Street. This project has refined the former complications of the property and has achieved a home that presents beautifully to the urban landscape and contains a sleek internal layout with luxe materials, customised joinery and selected furniture.

This project incorporated sustainable practices by adapting much of the existing fabric into the development and retaining timber framed glazing throughout the home. With verandahs to the front and rear and covered outside living zones, the dwelling enjoys solar shading and natural cross ventilation flows through the redesigned internal spaces.

Internally a complete renovation took place consisting of two bathrooms, ensuite, kitchen and laundry, all with custom joinery and stonework, including a under mount bath set into the beautiful marble slab as a highlight to the finer details achieved across the renovation.

New oak flooring through-out tie together the living, dining and kitchen to show off the open nature and flow of downstairs. The newly cladded stairs make the transition from upstairs to downs stairs feels natural and makes a feature of out of the once tired space.

Outside, the tired, existing pool was restored and brought back to life with a new plumbing and filtration system, as well as new solar heating. New limestone paving now surrounds the pool area, with frameless glass fencing used to maintain a clean modern feel into the outdoor space.

The original 'double car' garage proportions only allowed for one car to fit comfortably in the space. We extended the garage to accommodate two cars, with ample storage. This allowed us to shifted the entry to the house to a more central position, aesthetically creating a more symmetrical and welcoming front façade.
